As first-time buyers, it’s natural to feel a little overwhelmed and nervous, but with the right real estate agent with you along the way, the process will also be fun, educational, and all the worthwhile! 
 
Congratulations! You’ve purchased a home and have a set move-in date. What comes next? Read on below for a list of important items & helpful reminders that you may want to consider, prior to moving into your new home.
 

Prior to Moving in, You May Want to Start Up the Following Utility Services

  • Telephone/Landline Service
  • Cable/Internet Service
  • Electricity
  • Natural Gas (if applicable)
 

After Moving in, Here Are Some Items You May Want to Consider Taking Care Of

  • Re-key all doors/gates to the property for security purposes
  • Notify your resident/property/association manager of your residency if necessary
 

Update the Following Mailing Addresses if Applicable

  • Fill out a change of address form with USPS
  • Bank/Credit Card Accounts
  • DMV/Driver’s License
  • Voter’s Registration
  • Children’s Schools
  • Doctors, Dentist, etc. 
  • Employer
  • Family/Friends
  • Magazine Subscriptions 
  • Etc.
