Congratulations! You’ve purchased a home and have a set move-in date. What comes next? Read on below for a list of important items & helpful reminders that you may want to consider, prior to moving into your new home.
Prior to Moving in, You May Want to Start Up the Following Utility Services
- Telephone/Landline Service
- Cable/Internet Service
- Electricity
- Natural Gas (if applicable)
After Moving in, Here Are Some Items You May Want to Consider Taking Care Of
- Re-key all doors/gates to the property for security purposes
- Notify your resident/property/association manager of your residency if necessary
Update the Following Mailing Addresses if Applicable
- Fill out a change of address form with USPS
- Bank/Credit Card Accounts
- DMV/Driver’s License
- Voter’s Registration
- Children’s Schools
- Doctors, Dentist, etc.
- Employer
- Family/Friends
- Magazine Subscriptions
- Etc.
