Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and take on lush greenery and beautiful mountains in East Oahu
Oahu's East Shore is located approximately 30 minutes from Honolulu and Waikiki. The region comprises quiet, coastal neighborhoods and towns nestled between the ocean and mountain ranges. Bordered by Ko'olau Range, East Shore extends from Kahana Bay to Makapuu Point and Lighthouse on the southeastern part of Oahu and includes the following communities: Kahala, Kaimuki, and Hawaii Kai.
Since the wind and weather come in from the east, East Oahu is an incredibly lush and beautiful region. The air is also cooler than the rest of the island because much of the incoming moisture gets blown over the volcanoes. This weather makes things more beautiful, carving dramatic formations into the mountain ranges, feeding waterfalls, and allowing local flora to flourish. It also allows for various outdoor activities, such as snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, and swimming.
East Oahu homes are eclectic and among the most sought-after on the island. The region features single-family homes, luxury waterfront homes, and hillside properties with incredible views. Many houses were built in the 1960s and have undergone renovations to include modern amenities like spas and pools.
